In the early ‘80s when Swapan Basu chanced upon the opportunity to make hand-painted accessories; he was quick to seek help from his best friend and wife, Roma. In 1984, Roma started designing hand-painted bags while developing the process and refining the method of painting over the years. Today it is a closely guarded family secret. This is a very compact bag. It is not large but it can fit everything you may need into it. I have a wallet, two check books, cell phone, pocket calendar book, two set of keys, my classic ipod w/case, lipstick, sm. mirror, compact, and a pen it's snug but there's room left for more. This is a very nice bag the art work is beautiful I love how the zipper goes around three sides with two pulls. All in all I couldn't be any happier I LOVE this bag.

I have wanted an Anuschka purse for a while now so for the price I thought this would be a great way to get introduced to the brand. Well I don't know what all the hype is about. The inside of the purse is unfinished--just plain leather. So please don't spill anything in it because the purse will be ruined and depending on what's spilled it can saturate thru the purse. I don't know why they call this a "multi-compartment" style because they are too small and you can only put one thing in them. The shoulder strap is very thin and this purse can not hold any weight in it. As far as the technique they use to paint on the leather that is nice but that's it. This style and size is best for a teen.

Should know better than to purchase a purse for my wife...next time she gets a gift card.
